First we made a list of possible ways to celebrate. Every one got to contribute 3 ideas.
Then each person ranked each all the possibilities. We used a different color chalk to indicate each person's rankings.
Then Tim tallied up all the rankings.
Even thought Sullivan's first choice ("Sullivan Day" - where we all do whatever Sullivan wants) did not win....
....we were all satisfied with the end result - a trip to each of our favorite stores.
However, by the time we finally finished this process, it was too late to do anything, so the celebration was put off to the weekend.
While she was in a list-making mood, Sullivan decided to make a list of landscaping projects.
On Friday night, Sullivan went on an overnight trip to the Maryland Science Center with her Girl Scout troop. I was not picked as a chaperone for this trip, and I was very disappointed, but at least my friend Marcie was going. We ran into some bad luck trying to get her to the carpooling spot. First, as we were leaving our neighborhood, someone ran a red light and hit us. The accident was almost avoided, and by the time she hit us we were both going very slowly. The damage was minimal, but it shook us all up quite a bit. Then I81, our main route north, was completely backed up due to an accident. We tried cutting through town, but apparently everyone else had the same idea that that route wasn't moving either. We were starting to think this trip wasn't meant to happen. But eventually, we made it and the girls were on their way to Baltimore. Marcie texted me pictures and updates all night long, which was the next best thing to being there. She's such a good friend!
