More from March

March 24, 2011:  Williamsport Elementary Art Show.  Here's Sullivan with a story that she illustrated.

We knew there was going to be some sort of musical performance by the 3rd graders, but we were really surprised at how elaborate it was.  They had been working on this in music class, and only had one practice with all the 3rd graders together.  They acted out some folktales - We're Off to Bremen Town (Sullivan was the cat) and Tiki Tiki Tembo (Sullivan played the marimba).  We were really impressed!  If I ever figure out how to post a video, I'll show you!

March 27, 2011:  Annie!  We were going to Greencastle High School to see Annie (a friend's son was in it).  Since that's Kate's favorite show, she went with us.
We even went down after the show to meet the star. She was very sweet and Kate was thrilled to get her picture taken with "Annie" (even if she had removed the curly wig!).

Scrapping at the Cabin

The weekend of 3/19 and 3/20 I went for a scrapbooking weekend with some girl friends.  I had a great time and actually got a lot done.  We were near Berkeley Springs, so we went for a little soak in the "healing" mineral waters and visited George Washington's bathtub.

St. Patrick's Day

One of our favorite holidays.  Somehow, even this one has turned into gift-giving occasion.  The leprechaun visits good little Irish girls and leaves come chocolate coins and a few little goodies.  He usually leaves a hat, and this year was no exception.  I even made a veggie version of corned beef and cabbage!

March - Part 1

I'm way behind, so here's a quick summary of what happened in March.

March 2, 2011:  Sullivan's last basketball game.  She was soooooo close to making her first basket - the whole team groaned with her when it bounced off the rim.  We were really pleased that she made just a great play and didn't hesitate to take the shot.  She was just really, really mad that she missed.  I think the basketball season was tough on her because she's so tough on herself, but we were just so proud of her for sticking with it and always giving it her best effort.  It'll be interesting to see if she wants to play again next year...

March 4, 2011:  The highlight of every day for me is when I pick Sullivan up from school.  She comes running out and she looks so happy - and happy to see me.  That's such a big part of everyday for me that I realized I needed a picture of that.  I know it's one of the things I will really miss when she's all grown up.  So I snapped this with my phone as she came running out to meet me.

Girl Scout Cookies!  On 3/4, Sullivan and her friend Morgan were working a cookie booth at the mall.  I was the cookie mom again this year.  We had a lower response than usual from the other girl scouts, so we had a lot of cookies left over.  Since I was responsible for getting rid of all these cookies (and since no one else was volunteering), poor Sullivan ended up working almost every cookie booth.  Sullivan, Morgan, and Morgan's sister Kendall also though it would be fun to sell some the old fashioned way - a "walk about".  Here they are on 3/12, ready to sell some cookies!  They actually had a really good time.

March 7, 2011:  my first flowers of spring!
