On June 12th the Girl Scouts took a train ride to see some bald eagles. It was the Potomac Eagle Railroad in Romney WV. Sullivan saw over 30 bald eagles. The rest of us saw 2 or 3 eagles and a bunch of buzzards. The scenery was gorgeous and the train ride was a lot of fun.
Sullivan went to Fort Wilderness Survival camp the week of 6/14. The was our first time at Antietam Recreation. What a nice camp. She was building forts, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and playing all kinds of ball games. Besides all that adventurous stuff, they also had dress up, a tea party, plays, a library and arts & crafts. She was exhausted (and often very muddy) by the end of the day. I got to stay for the tea party, so I got a few photos of that.
On June 18th, Sullivan participated in Relay For Life. She and some friends had an all-kid team to help raise money for cancer research. Sullivan raised $263.30 and her team raised $1881.63. I think they did a great job.

Catching up - June
Here's a summary of the first half of June:
June 7th was the end-of-year Girl Scout Picnic and bridging ceremony. Sullivan wasn't "bridging" up to Juniors yet, but as part of the ceremony the continuing Brownies welcomed the Daisies who were coming up to Brownies.
June 8th was the last day of school, so summer vacation officially started on June 9th. Unfortunately it was a rainy day, so we started vacation off with arts & crafts, baking, and video games with the neighbor.
We quickly moved on to pool parties
And, of course, since it's summer we need to have ice cream at least once every day!

Going back in time
4th Dance Recital
Sullivan had her 4th dance recital yesterday, and of course she did an incredible job. Grandma, Pap, Aunt Jeanne and Kate also came to see her. This year, she did jazz and tap. Here are some pics of our little beauty:
Field Day
I got to help out at field day again this year at Sullivan's school. I think I have as much fun as she does! Here are some pics from the day:
Some more little things from May
Sullivan got a box of authentic Mardi Gras bead from her cousin Steph, who is in grad school at Tulane. Of course, she had to put them all on at once.
And as we wrapped up another year of dance, I was thinking how my little dancer has changed. We used to wear pretty little leotards, skirts and tutus to dance class.
Oh my, what a little cutie! She was just about to turn 4 when she started dance class.
Now, we have to dress like the big girls:
And just to show that I do take pictures of something other than Sullivan.... The yard is in full bloom: rhododendrons, roses, wisteria and something I don't know the name of.
