Here's a summary of what we did in Sept. (My intention is to go back and post the summer pictures later. Seeing summer pictures on a cold, rainy November day will be a nice treat, won't it?)
Back to School:
Technically, this is August - but I thought it was a good place to start.
She's all ready for 4th grade!
Or is she? Someone's still a little sleepy!
And there she goes!
Since she's in 4th grade now, she got to choose an instrument to play. After much soul searching and trying every instrument that exists, she finally chose:
The cello!
On Sept 4th, we made a little trip down to Luray Caverns in Virginia. The caverns were really crowded since it was Labor Day weekend, but we all enjoyed it. We couldn't believe how big they were. I took a ton of pictures, of course, but here are a few of my favorites:
Of course, the biggest event of September is Sullivan's birthday. She's 10, and very excited to be in the double digits. She opted for a weekend in NYC this year instead of a party, so the pictures are a little limited.

Birthday dinner at her favorite restaurant - Rick's China Garden. They made a big fuss over her and sang Happy Birthday in English and in Chinese.
We actually had her birthday dinner the night before, because on her actually birthday, we headed up to Deep Creek Lake to spend the weekend with our friends, the Fitzsimmons. It was a little too chilly for water activities, but we had a great time boating, hanging out, playing games and enjoying Wisp's non-skiing activities.

Even though is was chilly, Sullivan couldn't get enough of the boat.

Sullivan had decided that the dog likes to wear "clothes". Poor little guy!
Last day of summer meant is was finally time to take out that hair wrap. It had been in there for 4 months!
We're still ice skating. Sullivan has gotten so much better since she started a year ago.
She made a thinking cap for a class project. Here's the final product. The images are all things that inspire her. She designed it all and we help her put it together. Apparently we didn't do a very good job because it came home a week later in need of repairs!
